Introduction.

Marijn van Kreij lives and works in Amsterdam. He studied at AKV St. Joost in Breda and was a resident artist at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. Van Kreij’s versatile work often takes existing images, texts, and music as a starting point to reconsider their meaning in a new, carefully constructed, highly personal context.

Departing from the idea that art is always created in response to other art, Van Kreij considers it crucial to establish connections with other artists or musicians, making this an essential part of his practice.
