Various makers are featured in this exhibition, from artists to fashion designers or product designers. They work on commission, for their personal artistic practice, for a special exhibition or research new technical possibilities for the industry. In Research &amp; Development projects, makers challenge the TextielLab&rsquo;s experts and machines to go to the extreme. Every creative process is an adventure; experimenting, searching for solutions and making decisions. &lsquo;Secrets of making #2&rsquo; also shows the collaboration between the creator and the technical expert. What is the division of roles and what do they learn from each other?</p></body></html>

<html><body><h2>Makers, experts &eacute;n machines gaan tot het uiterste</h2>
<p>In &lsquo;Makersgeheimen #2&rsquo; ervaar je hoe de idee&euml;n van de makers worden geboren en waar ze in intensieve samenwerking met de experts van het TextielLab worden uitontwikkeld. De expo toont werk van een 10-tal kunstenaars, modeontwerpers en productontwerpers: Fransje Gimbr&egrave;re, Indr&eacute; Svirplyt&eacute;, Joana Schneider, JAS&amp;CAL, Leonie Schneider, Melonit, Mercedes Azpilicueta, Raw Color, Sofie Leenen en Yamuna Forzani. Ze werken in opdracht, voor de eigen artistieke praktijk, voor een bijzondere expositie of onderzoeken nieuwe technische mogelijkheden voor de industrie. In Research &amp; Development projecten dagen makers de experts en de machines uit om tot het uiterste te gaan. Elk maakproces is een avontuur, met experimenten, het zoeken naar oplossingen en het nemen van besluiten. &lsquo;Makersgeheimen #2&rsquo; toont ook de samenwerking tussen de maker en de technische expert. Hoe is de rolverdeling en wat leren ze van elkaar?</p>
<h2>Ontwikkelcentrum voor textiel</h2>
<p>Al meer dan 20 jaar is het&nbsp;<a title="Meer over het textiellab" href="/textiellab-bezoekers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TextielLab</a>, de professionele werkplaats in het TextielMuseum, een plek waar makers kunnen experimenteren en hun werk kunnen uitvoeren. Onder begeleiding van productontwikkelaars en technisch deskundigen wordt er werk ontwikkeld met computergestuurde en ambachtelijke technieken &ndash; van weven en breien tot tuften en borduren.</p>

<html><body><p class="p1">By visually clarifying data about climate change, Raw Color aims to raise awareness about the issue. At the heart of the project is a series of blankets that serve as carriers of this data. The colour schemes were also carefully curated to convey different types of climate information, such as warm shades for changing temperatures and cool shades for rising sea levels. Besides bringing together the studio's signature disciplines &ndash; textile design, graphic design and the materialisation of colour &ndash; the blankets are designed to communicate climate data simply and compellingly, with the aim of creating insights and lasting impact.</p></body></html>


<html><body><p>Door visueel klimaatveranderingsdata te verduidelijken, wil Raw Color bewustzijn cre&euml;ren over dit belangrijke onderwerp. Centraal in het project staat een serie dekens die als dragers van deze data fungeren. De kleurenschema&rsquo;s zijn zorgvuldig samengesteld om verschillende soorten klimaatinformatie over te brengen, zoals warme tinten voor temperatuurveranderingen en koele tinten voor stijgende zeespiegels. <br><br></p></body></html>


<html><body><p>Naast het samenbrengen van de kenmerkende disciplines van de studio &ndash; textielontwerp, grafisch ontwerp en de materialisatie van kleur &ndash; zijn de dekens ontworpen om klimaatdata op een eenvoudige en aansprekende manier te communiceren, met als doel inzicht te cre&euml;ren en blijvende impact te maken.</p></body></html>
