<p>Van Eijk has been making her mark on Dutch Design for 20 years. To celebrate two decades of her contribution to this internationally acclaimed design aesthetic, the TextielMuseum presents highlights from her oeuvre in a unique way. For the exhibition, Van Eijk collaborates with set and spatial designer Theun Mosk, who is known for his eye-catching designs for theatre productions as well as his independent installations. Together, they challenge you to playfully discover Van Eijk&rsquo;s designs. Take a look in a large diorama that showcases her tablecloth and tableware, zoom in on the designer&rsquo;s sketches with special camera&rsquo;s, or see objects appear in the lighting while moving around. Shape your own journey of wonder throughout the exhibition and marvel at the poetic work of Kiki van Eijk.</p>

<h3>Fantastical design</h3>
<p>The exhibition shows the breadth of Van Eijk&rsquo;s talent: from colourful wall hangings and luxury textile objects to furniture, clocks and lamps. The departure point for all her work is a lively curiosity that sees her experiment with different materials and production methods including glass, ceramics, bronze and textiles. This versatility results in fantastical and quirky designs that cast a fresh light on everyday objects. Her interest in materials and techniques regularly brought her to the TextielMuseum, where craftsmanship, experimentation and the creative process take centre stage. Many of Van Eijk&rsquo;s textile works were made in the TextielLab, the museum&rsquo;s specialised workshop.</p></body></html>

<h3>From Eindhoven to Coachella</h3>
<p>Van Eijk graduated cum laude in 2000 from the renowned Design Academy Eindhoven. Her work has since been featured in museums, galleries and design fairs worldwide, from Milan and Paris to Tokyo and New York. In addition to her own collections, Van Eijk has designed for Studio Edelkoort, MOOOI, Saint-Louis and other prominent clients. More recently, she has developed an art installation for the forthcoming Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the United States.</p>

<h3>Tea towels for label &lsquo;by TextielMuseum&rsquo;</h3>
<p>To coincide with the exhibition, the TextielMuseum is launching three exclusive tea towels for its label &lsquo;by TextielMuseum&rsquo;. Inspired by nature, Van Eijk created three vibrant designs that were produced in the TextielLab. The production process can be seen up close on the looms in the lab. <p>During the course of the exhibition, the TextielMuseum will also be organising various workshops and masterclasses inspired by Van Eijk&rsquo;s working method. A book will also be released by nai010 publishers about the craftmanship of Kiki van Eijk entitled &lsquo;Imaginings by Kiki van Eijk&rsquo;. <p>Al 20 jaar levert de Eindhovense ontwerper Kiki van Eijk een onderscheidende bijdrage aan het Dutch Design. Het TextielMuseum presenteert de hoogtepunten uit haar werk op een unieke wijze. Van Eijk werkt namelijk samen met scenograaf en ruimtelijk vormgever Theun Mosk, die wordt geprezen om zijn opvallende ontwerpen voor theaterproducties en kunstinstallaties. Samen met Mosk daagt Van Eijk je uit haar designs spelenderwijs te ontdekken. Werp een blik in een grote kijkdoos om tafelgoed van haar hand te aanschouwen, zoom met camera&rsquo;s in op schetsen van de ontwerper, en zie objecten in de belichting verschijnen terwijl je door de tentoonstelling beweegt. Bepaal je eigen ontdekkingstocht door de expositie en verwonder je over het po&euml;tische werk van Kiki van Eijk.</p>

<h3>Wonderlijk design</h3>
<p>De tentoonstelling toont een divers palet aan designproducten van de Eindhovense ontwerper: van kleurrijke wandkleden en luxe textielobjecten tot meubels, klokken en lampen. Als ontwerper werkt Kiki van Eijk vanuit een levendige nieuwsgierigheid, waarbij zij altijd onderzoekend te werk gaat. Ze experimenteert met verschillende materialen en productiemethoden, of het nu glas, keramiek, brons of textiel betreft. Dat veelzijdige vakmanschap levert een wonderlijk en eigenzinnig design op, dat je anders laat kijken naar alledaagse voorwerpen en objecten. Haar interesse in materialen en techniek bracht haar geregeld naar het TextielMuseum. In het TextielLab, de specialistische werkplaats van het museum, ontstonden veel van Van Eijks textiele werken.</p></body></html>

<h3>Theedoeken voor label &lsquo;by TextielMuseum&rsquo;</h3>
<p>In het kader van de expositie lanceert het TextielMuseum drie exclusieve theedoeken voor het label &lsquo;by TextielMuseum&rsquo;. Ge&iuml;nspireerd op de natuur heeft Kiki van Eijk drie kleurrijke ontwerpen gemaakt die in het TextielLab vervaardigd worden. De productie hiervan is van dichtbij te aanschouwen op de weefmachines in de werkplaats van het museum. The rich color palette from the designer's garden is captured in textile form by combining five colors of fine thread.
