Simone Post

Introduction.
Simone Post is a Dutch visual artist who uses textiles as the starting point for sculptural and conceptual installations. Growing up in a home filled with sewing machines, she developed an early affinity for materials, craftsmanship and the process of making.
After graduating cum laude from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2015, her practice soon shifted from applied design towards visual art. Rather than focusing on functionality, her work explores the imaginative potential of materials themselves.
Working with simple, often analogue techniques, Post investigates how textiles can be transformed into spatial experiences. Her installations, ranging from wall hangings to soft architectural forms and reimagined objects, play with colour, tactility and pattern. They balance attraction with a sense of estrangement, inviting viewers to look at everyday things from a different perspective.
Her practice brings together craftsmanship, experimentation and sensory experience, creating a contemporary material language in which textiles continually take on new meanings.
