The Artist in Residence Fellowship in Rome is awarded to an artist who works for three months on a project that contributes concretely to the cross-fertilization between art and science. The programme was established by the Royal Netherlands Institute for the Arts (KNIR) and the Society of Arts of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
The Artist is expected to actively participate in the academic community at KNIR and to promote the cross-fertilization of art and science.
The Artist receives a monthly stipend for a maximum period of three months and is temporarily housed in a guest appartment at KNIR.
Who is eligible?
A Dutch artist, or a non-Dutch artist living and working in the Netherlands.
Who can nominate?
This call is open to everyone, but self-nominations will not be considered. A member of the Society of Arts may submit an application on his own behalf.
