Welcome to the TextielLab, the beating heart of the TextielMuseum where craft, design and art meet. Interested in 3D weaving, knitted garments or embroidering with 15 needles at once? Supported by the knowledge and expertise of an experienced team, the TextielLab has everything you need to create and make your own textile (art)works.
Works made in the TextielLab can be found around the world: from the Paris catwalk and Qatar National Library to the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg. Would you like to see your work in our gallery? Submit a project proposal via our website.
The TextielLab is fully equipped. Makers can experiment on both traditional and high-tech machines with a range of techniques – from weaving, knitting and embroidery to tufting and passementerie.
The TextielLab is a knowledge institute and development space in one. Surrounded by an inspiring museum collection, the largest specialist library in Europe and an extensive Sample Studio, young talents and established makers can explore the world of textiles. Through the museum, newly discovered techniques and innovative projects developed in the lab are shared with a large audience.
